San Francisco, CA – The San Francisco Deputy Sheriffs’ Association (SFDSA) is pleased to announce its endorsement of two candidates in the 2026 San Francisco Board of Supervisors election: Alan Wong for District 4 and Manny Yekutiel for District 8.
Alan Wong was appointed on December 1, 2025, to represent District 4 on the Board of Supervisors. His public service career spans City Hall, the nonprofit sector and education, as well as more than 15 years of service in the California Army National Guard. As a member of the Board’s Public Safety and Neighborhood Services Committee, he works on measures related to public safety, traffic and parking control, emergency services and more.
Manny Yekutiel is a small business owner, community builder and former city commissioner who is part of a new generation of leadership in San Francisco. Recognizing that safety and joy go hand in hand, his priorities include ensuring clean, secure streets and vibrant neighborhoods for local residents and businesses by investing in lighting, expanding access to mental health care, confronting open-air drug markets and unsafe encampments, and more.
During the evaluation process, both candidates expressed support for principles central to SFDSA’s mission, including protecting due process rights for peace officers, supporting good-faith labor negotiations, addressing staffing challenges that affect deputy safety and workload, and recognizing the importance of investing in modern facilities and training resources necessary for deputies to perform their duties safely and effectively.
Following a thorough review by the Political Action Committee and subsequent ratification by the Board of Directors, the SFDSA determined that the candidates’ responses and engagement during the endorsement process demonstrated a clear understanding of the issues impacting San Francisco’s rank-and-file deputy sheriffs and a commitment to working collaboratively to resolve these concerns.
“SFDSA appreciates the willingness of Supervisor Wong and Mr. Yekutiel to engage directly with our Association and its members on the issues facing deputy sheriffs and public safety in our city and county,” President Danilo Quintanilla said. “We are proud to give them our endorsement as civic leaders who will work with us to address the complex challenges facing the communities we serve, helping to build a safer, stronger San Francisco for everyone.”
